Hannah Locke
Sugar Plum Fairy Ms. Locke, from Chattanooga, Tennessee, began her training at VanCura Ballet Conservatory under the direction of Anna and Barry VanCura, then attended high school on scholarship at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Summer programs included Ballet Tennessee, Joffrey Midwest, American Ballet Theatre, Kaatsbaan, and Boston Ballet. Ms. Locke began her professional career with Richmond Ballet, and later served as Principal Dancer and Ballet Administrator with Ballet Tennessee. Since joining Manassas Ballet Theatre in 2018, Ms. Locke has performed a variety of principal and soloist roles including Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Myrtha in Giselle, Mina in Dracula, and Glove Seller in Gaite Parisienne. She has been featured in original choreography by Vadim Slatvitskiy, Ahmed Nabil, Debora Greer, Christina Franco, and Pamela Kubiak. Ms. Locke is also an instructor at Manassas Ballet Academy and Russell School of Ballet. Shady Mohamed Cavalier Shady Mohamed is a professional ballet dancer from Egypt. He trained in the Russian method and later earned a degree in Choreographing and Directing after four years of university study. As a former soloist with a national ballet company, Shady has performed in Germany, Switzerland, France, Mexico, and the USA. He won first place in a national ballet competition in Egypt. Shady was previously a principal dancer with Manassas Ballet Theatre and Charlottesville Ballet. He has danced in classical ballets such as Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Coppélia, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, and Cinderella. Currently, Shady works as a freelance professional ballet dancer. |
